if a LS1 intake does not have the egr does this make it a ls6 type intake or not? Thanks what year did they start putting the ls6 type intake on the f-bodys?

All 2001 and 2002 f-bodies have the "ls6" intake.

No EGR on the 2001 & 2002 F-bodies... so all the ones with LS6 intakes

I heard that we have no EGR provisions because of the cam that we have. I have heard that we have the LS6 cam, I have also heard the truck cam as well? Which is it? But that is the reason we have no EGR, because the size cam we have, I think? Someone help me out!

I think 97 through 00 Corvette's have the LS1 style without EGR and LS6 style without EGR starting in 01.

I mean I guess it's possible the guy doesn't know what he's talking about and actually has an LS6 intake but doesn't know it. I would be wary. If someone had the LS6 it would be colassally stupid to make less money on it by selling it as an LS1 intake.

But just so you know, I have enever seen or heard of an LS1 intank with no EGR provisions.

FWIW, I'm not sure of the truck cam specs, but I've heard that due to the LS6 hp gain the 01/02s actually utilize a more mild cam to save on emissions and eliminate the need for EGR provisions on the car.

Be careful... the LS1 Holden and 97-00 Vette intakes did not have an egr hole.. they are not LS6 intakes.. Many people have made this mistake..

OK ... so does one tell if their non-EGR intake is actually an LS6 or one of those early 'Vette intakes?

Check out the link below. The LS6 intake is on the right.

Whoops, that's not the link I was thinking of.
You'll have to copy and paste it for it to work. Also, in the pic shown the LS6 intake manifold is on the left. Notice how the "floor" of it is flat.

The LS1 intake has a hump in the middle and the LS6 is flat, then, correct?
