Can someone explain Can someone explain to me exactly what o2 bungs are? I was told that I need to have them welded into my aftermarket y-pipe. How do you cut a small hole in the y-pipe to get that little thing in there? I'm not exactly sure whats going on to tell ya the truth! lol Thanks for any help.

Re: Can someone explain The "bung" is the internally threaded (18 mm) piece that looks like a round nut. You need to drill a hole the size of the body, fit the "bung" into the hole and weld it securely. Jeg's part number is 555-30740. oh, yeah, screw an old sparkplug (18 mm thread) into it while welding to keep weld spatter out of the threads.
The best tool I've found to drill holes it sheet metal or exhaust tubing is called a "Unibit" Step Drill. You can find them in tool stores or online.

1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and then use a rotary
reamer to get the right size.
