TB Bypass proof Just posting up a pic I found of someone with a 96 LT1 WS6 (shouldnt be too much difference in a LS1) dynoed his car before and after the TB bypass.
Got a average gain of 5.6 hp and 6.8 ft lbs.
He ran the car before hand to warm it up then dynoed with coolant running through the TB.
Let it cool all the way down.
Then dynoed again with TB bypass.
And some of you said it didnt do much of anything
Thats pretty damn good for practically a free mod if I do say so myself.

He has stock heads, cam, and intake-Stock WS6 ram air induction with K&N. Also a airfoil. Those should be the only things that determines what he gains from this mod. (But those arent his only mods to make that power) So what you see should be across the board with pretty much anyone doing this mod. Anyone with ram air or CAI would benefit from this more then someone with a stock air induction. Just my .2

Good information! The reason you don't see these kinda things too often is that we know it will not make less horsepower with the TB bypass, and it's too cheap not to try.

Yeah but he has 3 runs. 1 with normal op temp and no bypass. 1 with bypass.
1 with heat soaked with bypass.

Im sure how it really happened but from your wording. He made a fully warmed up run with the Tb coolant still hooked up. Then cooled it all the way down and did the tb bypass and DID'T warm it back up and made a second run and made more power. If this is the case that is no surprise. A cool car will make more power than a heat soaked one. Now if it was warmed back up again then I guess it works well. I did it just out of theory, the tb won't be as hot so in theory it should make more power. I always just put it in the pile of every little bit helps.
