Default EGR Leaking, Need Help!

I did my plug/wire sway today, but for some reason, my EGR started leaking. I had never had the thing off until the other day when I did the !EGR mod. I didn't cut it too high and thought it was on fine, as I have driven the car a few hundred miles since and no problems. But when I fired the car up after the plug/wire swap, it ran fine for a minute or two, then it started leaking like crazy, hissing like a snake. So I shut the car off, unscrewed the EGR, reset the gasket and tube, and tightened it back up. I noticed that you can't tighten that bolt too much. You have to be careful with it.

Anyway, the car ran fine after that. I took it out on the road and hammered it hard. Then I pull back in my driveway, and it starts leaking again. I fixed it one more time, but I can see this might be a problem. My only thought is I must have loosened something when I was sprawling across my engine bay like Superman doing the plug/wire swap. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can fix this? Like maybe I can seal it with something when I put it back together. Any ideas?

Sure the knurled nut in intake is not loose & allowing tube, bolt &knurled nut to pull up? If it's all stripped out in the plastic your gonna have to get it secured in intake again.

More than likely you just tweaked the EGR tube and it is not allowing the gasket to seal properly now. Try adjusting the tube so that the bolt plate sits perfectly flat on the intake. If the problem continues, you might end up stretching the O-ring and thus, might need to replace it as it will no longer seal properly.
