coolant system bleed I know it's been asked time and time again, but there are always several different methods mentiond <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I'm replacing my T-Stat and radiator cap tonight, so what's the bst way to bleed the system afterwards?! I have a BMR TB Bypass too. Thanks guys!
Re: coolant system bleed when i did my coolant temp sensor I unscrewed the line under/in front of the intake on the passanger side. Its a 10mm bolt. I just strated car with it unscrewed enough that I could tke my fingers and hold it up while the car was running. I just stuffed a rag in there and let it pump some out for 2 mins or so. Just watch the fan belts <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
i would think unplugging any line up top would do the same.. air rises so the higher the line the better

Re: coolant system bleed I did the "home brew" free modification to my factory therm last weekend. It involves taking the therm apart and placing a simm ( or tin foil) in the housing flange to raise the therm shaft slightly. Works great!
Anyway, you need to be careful to remove any air trapped in the cooling system after this mod or you will overheat and cause serious damage to your engine,,,,,
LT1's used to have a special rad. bleed valve but I do not believe there is such a valve on the LS1 motors.... I left the radiator cap off the car and let it run for 10 minutes or so occasionally refilling as necessary....I did not have any problems....just keep your eye on the temp guage if it starts to increase -STOP the car immediately - you have an air bubble in the system that must be removed...

Re: coolant system bleed The best spot is where the hose goes(or in your case went) into the TB.Disconnect it and slowly pour coolant into the radiator until it comes pissing out @ the the TB coolant hose.
