Screen or no screen. That is the question........ I am currently running a stock screened MAF. Is there an advantage to taking out the screen? I have edit and could compensate but what will I be geting? Just a couple more CFM? Is it worth it?

Well, according to the LS6 article a few issues back in GMHTP, the only reason the screen was there to begin with was because it was originally a truck MAF, and that was used to straighten the air from the elbow bellows in trucks. With the F and Y body, it's a straight shot, so no screen is needed. I say get rid of it. I still have mine, but I want a Pace, so I'll leave mine alone for now.

This is well covered material but, stock maf may flow enough air for great power but its modding can change timing and lean a/f ratio enough to benefit your combo. In my case porting and descreening stock maf has made a very nice difference in performance. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
