Quick EGR! question

Those of you who made custom EGR block-off plates, what exactly did you use?

Sorry for the new thread, but I searched like crazy and couldn't find anything specific.

Before I cut the air fittings off the headers, I took the air tubes and cut the tubes off. I welded the holes shut and just bolted them back on. I know this doesnt help if you dont have a welder. But maybe you could run them to a shop or someone that does. It only takes a few minutes.

Are you talking about for the headers or for the intake manifold. I jb welded a cork in to the intake manifold and my buddy just drilled some holes in some scap metal and made some caps for me using the gaskets as templets.

I used a 1 3/8 freeze plug in the manifold and welding shut the tubes like whiterhino did. If ya dont have a welder just go to lowes and a small sheet of steel and cut one out that way

if you are talking about the egr hole in the intake, you can just use a rubber freeze plug. or i had an slp ls6 intake with egr, so i just used the nut that came with it and cut out a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole and screw it on...sealed it with gasket sealer too.

Sorry, forgot to tell you I have new LT's non-emissions. Isn't there another tube or tubes that goes from the stock manifolds to the manifold that need to be blocked off?

I the intake piece I found a small metal plug that was just laying in my shop welded it in. then filled the rest of the piece up with bondo up to the top, sanded it smooth/flush and painted it black then bolted it on and most people never notice it.
