WTF is this Banging?
WTF is this Banging? Put on my LGM Y pipe today & it feels like my Trns mount is busted! But i know it is not!
Talked to Rick @ LG & he said i had to get a hammer & 2/4 & knock up this portion of my undercarriage!! WTF!! Help!

Re: WTF is this Banging? More than likely the y-pipe is banging the floor board. Look under the car for 'rub' marks and thats where you need to do a little modification with the hammer. You could also try pulling the y-pipe down so it will hang lower and not hit the car.

Re: WTF is this Banging? Take hammer to the undercarriage, I don't think so ( not if it were my car ). Two things I would try, first check to see if it's a clamp hitting the floorboard, second, loosen the clamps up and try repostioning the y-pipe. If it still bangs I'd send it back for a refund. We've installed SLP's y-pipes on two different cars and have had zero banging, good luck.

Re: WTF is this Banging? You may see a crossbrace just about where the y-pipe and the intermediate pipe join. If this brace is still installed in your car, the pipe may be hitting it. If so, just remove the brace. You don't need it.

Materials Needed:
(1) 3" Band Clamp
(1) 1/2 or 3/4 Piece of heater hose ~2" long
(1) Flathead Screwdriver
Take the band clamp, open it all the way up, and run it through the heater hose. Wrap it around the Y-pipe wherever its hitting the floor pan. You may or may not have to pry the Y pipe down a little bit. Close it and tighten, and you're done
5,000 miles, no melting, looks just like the day I put it on there, and the bang's gone <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

Re: WTF is this Banging? my SLP offroasd pipe banged in 2 places. Right under the drivers side seat and where the cross brace was. Take the cross brace off. I run the SLP drive shaft loop cross brace minus the loop cause the loop wont fit my car. Its the brace with the 2 inch dip in it.
