Default Quick question about the BBK intake

Is this true about the 12 -25 horses. I just dont want to get ripped off. I could probably buy a LS6 intake for around 300 but this one sounds better but isnt always true. What do you guys think.

If you're looking for fuel-injected intake manifold performance, look no further than BBK. These SSI performance intake manifolds are high-flowing, horsepower-adding work hounds designed to provide maximum performance! They're available for a variety of applications to give your street rod the flow it needs and the performance it craves.

• Adds 12-25 horsepower over the factory manifold
• Standard 85mm throttle body opening
• Flows approximately 15% better than Z06 manifold (LS6 Intake)
• Made from lightweight 356 aluminum
• Factory style o-ring gasket design
• Standard titanium powder coat finish

I've heard nothing good of the BBK. Either the ls6 or the Fast.

Thanks a lot for the input. Knowledge is power and you guys have it. Fortunately we can all get together and share it on LS1 tech. I am glad I found this site the people on it and the site itself are awesome. If it wasnt for you guys I would have spent an extra 100 dollars on the intake and it might have even worked worse than the LS6 because it would heat up so much. I used to weld aluminum so I kinda figured that but you never know I have figured some things and they were totally the opposite. Thanks again.

I'm going to buy it and I will post here with results of before and after. (will be a couple months though as I have to buy other stuff before then) Sitting on a dyno I could see heatsoak cause a problem but whatever, I guess I'll find out first hand.

good luck with with your test, you may want to search the dyno section, I have seen the weiland comparison, and I can not see the bbk being any different, just trying to save you some cash. The results were not very promising.

One more question for everyone do I need to look for anything specific when purchasing an LS6 intake with the EGR since I have a 98?

I would remove the egr and just get a standard ls6 intake. I know inspections are probably strict there like they are here, but the newer fbodies don't even have egr, and the inspector would have to be a real pro to be able to tell the difference. As long as you got the codes deleted/disabled properly, it would still pass the computer portion of the inspection.
