FTRA install help
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am about ready to do something violent because the first part only took me 15 minutes to do and I have messed around with getting the damn holes to even come close for over an hour now.
Well this is really pissing me off. I got my FTRA yesterday and went to put it on today. Well needless to say things didn't go so well. I pulled everything off, did the cutting requried, started to re-install everything, and when I went to put the FTRA part in it won't go all the way down so the holes line up. The top part of the FTRA(the part that sits directly under the airbox) is all the way down in the front, but up just a bit in the back(closet to the maf). I have the bottom piece past the radiator support, but the holes won't line up - they are up to far on the FTRA. I have pulled, pryed, and sworn a lot and it just won't go. I wouldn't think I would need to enlarge the radiator support holes and the deflector holes. What the hell??

Even though its too late in your case, i'll tell the rest of you how to save time and lots of cash. I'm sure you all know that the bottom of the air box can be cut out. But this leaves your filter exposed to alot of trash coming from under the car, not to mention the possibilty of water. To solve this go to a hardware store and buy a 4" by 12" (roughly) soffit vent for under a buck. Lay this over the opening, I did mine mesh side down and fins up. Drill a hole at each corner and secure with pop-rivets. This will open up the box and keep the filter a lot cleaner. It may not look as neat as the FTRA but it does the same thing at about 1% of the cost. Enjoy.

Can we se some pics of this? Thanks
