I had to remove the steering shaft and unbolt the transmission cross brace. Then I had a friend push the tranny while I stuck the header in its place. We found this side to be easier than the passengers side.

We had to unbolt the engine mounts remove the steering shaft and unbolt the trans mount and moved the engine over, Slid right in no problem. If I woulda know earlier I would have bought a set of mechanics gloves to protect the back of my hands.

If your Hookers came with the instructions, follow them. I can't believe some of the stuff you guys had to do! Banging the firewall, unbolting the engine mounts, moving the engine/tranny???? I put mine in myself and did none of that. The drivers side is so easy. Yes, remove the steering shaft (2 minutes work), and the oil diverter plate (1 minute). Granted, my car was on a lift. What exactly are you having a problem with?

You must be a lot better mechanic than I then...I own a lift, NO WAY....I had to bang that corner to just barely squeeze it in.. And NO there were NO instructions!!

" instructions "
That's a good one, like any of the parts we get for our cars ever come with more then one page and most of the time it's only a parts picture.
Hell if we wanted instructions for our parts, that would cost us another 20% of the part's base price.

My hookers came with great instructions. Told me everything i needed to remove to get them to tuck up. From what i have heard hookers are the easiest to install too.

Thanx for the help. I got them on, however, withour even seeing these posts. I just did not know how to get the steering shaft off. I found out though. I on the other hand, did not have a lift, cause im 17 and money is very limited... But i got them in and its running now. I only have a few more questions. Now that i have the LTs in, every time i shut off my car, it beeps five times. I had never heard this noise before, and was wondering what it was. Another is for anyone running Hooker LTs and ORP with a loudmouth exhaust. Mine did not seem to fit right, any way to change this withough sawing at the y? Also, would a bullet muffler take away any HP that i might have gained by this install. I was thinking about putting one in to get rid of the "rasp" Any insight would be appreciated. Thanx!!!!
