Default HP Loss?

I am going to install my Hooker LT's and ORYP tonight!!! Now here is the question I currently have aloud mounth exhaust. A friend of mine has a 2002 Z28 with stock exhaust. He is looking for a loud mouth exhaust. If I trade stright up my LM for his stock how much power will I lose after doing the Headers??? This is a daily driver that I will be eventually building a true dual system for but for now I think this willbe better exspecially with a 1000mile road trip coming up into an emmisions state from a non emmisions state. Please someone let me know what I should do.

PS. should I run a true dual or just put two electric cutouts??? Which will yield more hp??? The cutouts will be before the y-pipe at the collector of the header. Will I have to tune it different with the cut outs open versus closed due to backpressure? I have EDit.

The true dual will more than likely be a copy of the x-pipe setup everyone is doing with two bullets an x and a dump. How much Hp difference do you think there will be between that and two cut outs?

I would just go with his stock system with the cut-outs. If it's mainly for track use especially.Actually you could just install one 3 inch cut-out in the I-pipe (if it's 3 inch). The stock exhaust will be much more tolerable with the LTs and flow very well through the cut-out. That's all you need until you get into big cubes or major HP. Good luck!!

do you not think that two cutouts would be better with more power???
Two electrics would cost about 350 which is the same as a true dual system, so should i just get both Stock no cut outs and true dual and change them out??? I am so conused on what to do

Just an opinion, run the Hooker LT's into a true dual with either and X or H pipe crossover and into some flowmasters or similar and out the rear, right before or after the crossover install two cutouts.
This will give you a system that will be mellow on the road, loud and free flowing at the track and will allow you to build more power later without spending the cash over and over. Do it once and do it right.
Not everybody with true duals uses the X pipe, not that there is anything wrong with it except the price. I believe an H crossover will flow similar and allow cross pulse scavenging, cheaper too. Good Luck...
