Or you could just by the loudmouth resonator and have it welded into the stock exhaust and buy some tips.

yeah, but that wasnt his question. Plus he would still need to get the stock muffler removed and replacement pipes in its place....which I would think would cost more than a used lm cat back.

4th gen on a third gen will work, i know it does cause the GMMG exhaust i have on mine is from my dads 96 TA. Only thing that had to be done was it had relocate the hangers if i remember, maybe cut the I-pipe back an inch, but nothing major.

Any shop will be able to do it, and should cost any money, its not hard at all.

if you want just loud..why not just go to a exhaust shop and have them make you a straight pipe.

He didnt ask for you people to bash him nor tell me different. He asked a simple question about how to go about making it work. So knock that **** off.

the fab work alone would coust more. i was quoted this when i wanted a glasspack to split into two dual pipes from the ypipe

labor-150
parts 50
glasspack 35
welds- 10 extra for each full weld

thanks for all the info to everyone else

I was wondering the same thing. I want to put a loudmouth on my 86 Iroc and all I would think that would have to be done is the mounting on the hangers would have to be modified and maybe cut a inch or so to fit.

I don't see how.

If you include the price of the slp lm itself and then fabbing up the lm to fit the 3rd gen.

dude i already explained that there is really no fab work to get a 4th gen exhaust onto a thirdgen. Just have to change the hangers.

Is your name justin or are you talking to me?

I had a 3rd gen and the underside looks a bit different than my 00. I've never done it but I still think that swapping out muffler/resonator would be cheaper.

haha well my name is justin too, but anyways i'm just trying to say that there isnt that much work at all to get a 4th gen exhaust on a 3rd gen.

And why would you just put a resinator on it and change the tips, he wants the whole cat back, that would be no different then you asking about the exhuast for your car and people saying "just put a resinator in the I-pipe".

Only difference is the hanger placement, just need to weld on a hanger in a different place, any exhuast shop can do that for no extra cash, or if you know how to weld yourself wouldnt take you more then 3 min.
