SLP Loudmouth FEEDBACK
I ended up buying a borla so I could adjust the sound level to suit me... and where did the setting end up you ask? Wide open of course.
The borla sounds and looks great... but not sure if it was worth the extra cash and weight. (The ability to quieten it up is kinda nice... though I've still never had it blocked completely off <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> )
IF (and only if) I could find a way to do true duals and have good ground clearance (car is lowered) and have the tailpipes exit out the back without hitting anything, I would go that route.
Am i hearing the garbage can noise that is associated w/LM.If i leave it on i won't have to buy fireworks on the 4th of July.It honestly sounds like there is something loose in there,is this normal? I'm already thinking about the Dynomax Bullet.

That is exactly what it sounds like.I had a friend weld it for me, everything looks great.I've been under the car trying to duplicate the noise by banging on it,it's solid as heck.I'm going to have some buddies look at it tonight after work and see what they think.I'm baffled(no pun intended).
I have heard one of these things. All I can say is holy $hit is it loud. You could hear the car for 1/4 mile away.
If you have a wife...forget it...unless she is a saint. If your car is a daily driver...forget it...unless you are or want to be deaf. If you are over 25 years old...forget it...you've already out grown it.
I'm an old guy...it's just too damn loud for a daily driven street car. Try an adjustable Borla or my favorite the SLP 2OTL.
If you really want a loudmouth, pick up a used one that way when you get sick of it you won't be out so much money.

I for one had the LM on my car for about a year before i got me new one, and i never noticed a sound like the one you are describing. it is possible some punk put something in the system itself, or something might have went wrong or got in there durin the installation. The installation is most likely. If you did it yourself you should take time one weekend to jack the car back up and take off the exhuast and look through the pieces and make sure there really isnt anything in there. Cuz the LM is really a great system for fbodies, and i havent heard of that kinf od noise before.
To make matters worse,it's not doing it all the time.I'm going to get on it real good this weekend and see if i can blow whatever is in there OUT.Maybe some packing material ended up in there or something.I hope the stock cats are not the problem.
