Value of "H" exhaust cross-over?
with an ideal balance tube each exhaust pulse gets
twice the cross-sectional area to escape. That
leaves aside the issues of resonant scavenging
in engines with uneven intra-bank firing order,
which the balance tube also really helps with.
The X-pipe is a more flow-friendly update of
the venerable H-pipe, it imposes no right-
angle turns when properly constructed.
