Flowmaster..... I have decided I am going to go with 80 series flowmaster on my 99 trans am becuase I am, going to blow the rest of the moeny I have on other stuff. I have heard a ls1 with flowmasters and sounds pretty good. What would happen if I putt a y pipe on it?

I paid $200 for it installed.I will sell for cheap.Only has 2000 miles on it.

Re: Flowmaster..... Flowmaster really sucks man, I had one on my SS and dumped it last week for the GMMG. The car slowed noticably over the crap stock muffler, and sounded not much different at all. Save you money, or do an exhaust like the dynomouth. My friend did this on his and it sounds great, one of the top 4 in terms of sound, and it cost him less than my flowmaster muffler alone. If you are dead set on the flowmaster I have the stock exhaust with one and a cutout in the I pipe. You can have it if you pay shipping.

Re: Flowmaster..... hey pewter is that the flowmast thats welded in place of the stock muffler? if so i have one welded into my stock exhaust sitting in my back yard, i will make you a really good deal on it. It needs to be welded on in one spot, where it was cut to be removed. let me know if your intrested. I also have a b&b cat back for sale as well.

Re: Flowmaster..... Well I had just decided that I was going to go ahead and spend the cash on gmmg since I found a gp on it. I just kept thinking and I just cant make myself pay 625 for that exhaust! Since I have heard flowmaster I would consider it a 6 on the loud meter while crusing what would gmmg be? Also has anyone else ever heard random tech catback? The loudness I am going for is around a 7 to 8...any suggestions? Thanks for the replies so far you guys have got me off the flowmaster decision.

Re: Flowmaster..... Also what size tips am I going to need to buy to hook up to the gmmg 2 1/2 or 3 inch. I found the mecham tips but I thought some told me they were too big to hook up to gmmg.

Re: Flowmaster..... i have a 80 series on my 98 WS6, and it was on the car when i bought it, it sounds great imho, but ive heard its restrictive... so i plan on installing a cutout soon

Re: Flowmaster..... This is to "slow"... I have a 98 that also came with a Flowmaster??!! Get the cut-out, you'll never cap it. It's cheap to do also.
