running lean ???

I'm new here so bare with me guys...I have a ported maf and there is no ses light on am I ok...and if am running lean how would I know without using any scanning software? thanks!

If you hear pinging under heavy throttle then you are definitely running too lean. But, just because you don't hear any doesn't mean that you're not lean.

how would I check for pinging...I mean are you able to hear it under WOT?...would I have to turn down the radio and close the windows or what...I'm kind of new at this...or is it done with the hood open while messing with the throttle at WOT?...of course while parked...just curious...thanks for your patience! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
