So what do you recommend we do, Josh? Sue them? Hell, that seems the American thing to do lately.

I dont have a clue what is wrong with thier mufflers, there must be a problem, because I have seem similarly modded cars, never have a problem with thier corsa catback, its a shame that we have to switch mufflers, and stare at a new corsa muffler becuase I know its gonna break after a week of being on the car!, thats right its not every 6 months we have to replace a mufflers its more like every two weeks.

Well, I'm on my first broken muffler. I found the rattle this last weekend as I was putting the car on the trailer and off to storage. I'm going to pull it off and send it in. I really like the setup too! I'll definitely look at a true dual if this doesn't work out well. I hope I don't have to though.

How do you know if the muffler is bad? Everyone keeps saying theirs is bad but doesn't say what is messed up. I have a Corsa cat-back with a slight rattle and I thought it was clearance problems with my panhard rod or my heat sheild. Could I have a messed up muffler like the rest?? If so what does it sound like when its messed up, and how can you tell if it is the muffler and not something else?? Mine rattles while going over bumps or sometimes stopping. Obviously I cant hear a small rattle at WOT. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks

With everything firmly mounted simply tap the muffler pretty good with your hand. If it vibrates you can tell if the tone is from the inside or from it hitting something on the outside, like the panhard bar support.

You can hear something loose inside the muffler, like a baffle or something. I wonder if they just glue the damn thing together. This is pathetic for such an expensive product. They must not do any kind of quality assurance.

So far I have had none of those Corsa rattles on my LT1 T/A. I do have that annoying cold exhaust leak / pop though. I spoke to a Corsa Sales Rep at the F-Body event at the NCM in Sept and he said he had never had one of those complaints. He said he would look into it and give me a call, but I never heard back from him.

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
you know its broke when the rattle is louder than the cars exhaust at idle! we had a baffle come loose and it wedged itself in a way that it actually stopped rattling and shut off exhaust flow to one side of the muffler! gonna put a diff muffler on tommorrow and stare at a corsa muffler for a while.

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
Hey guys, I recently ordered a Corsa Catback Exhaust (just got it installed today) and just saw your posts. I had the GM Dealership where I bought my car (2000 Trans Am WS6) install it and when I got there to pick it up the guy said the tech who put it in wanted to talk to me. The guy proceeded to tell me about the rattling problem that you guys seem to describe. He said it wasn't a huge problem, something about clearance with the panhard rod (someone also mentioned that in a previous post) and that I needed to take it to a friend of his who had a welder. He said it just needed to be spot-welded in a few locations to keep it above the rod and perhaps have the pipe crimped a bit as well. He told me to have that done within the next few months or the damn muffler would break right off. This sounds to me exactly like the problem you guys are talking about. Has anyone considered this/noticed this/been told this? Has anyone tried the welding/crimping fix? I'd love to hear your thoughts as I'm hoping this would fix mine (and all of yours) problem, as mine's been in for a matter of hours and rattles quite a bit, but I wasn't freaked out or irritated cause the guy explained it to me. Let me know your thoughts, take it easy and have a great new year folks...

No that's not it. Sure you can get a frame rattle from the panhard bar brace. You simply can remove that brace or get out a trusty pry bar and make some room.
The rattle we are referring to is actually in the muffler. You can take the muffler off and shake it, sounds like rocks inside. A baffle or something inside is letting loose. When it does it makes a very high pitch noise not like a frame rattle.

Mine has been welded since day one with no avail. On my 4th now.Someone was asking if his slight rattle was the sound all I can say is that if you just keep driving it, it will get worse.Bad enough to hear it at idle.

I get a funny zzzzzz sound when I give half throttle. Seems like passenger side exhaust pipe is making that sound. No rattles yet though, and I got one of the first ones to come out of Corsa.

I'm on my second one right now. When a called to request a replacement, they acted like they never heard of this before!!
Not good, I was under the understanding that there was a bad test run and the new ones were ok.

Forget the Corsa and get a Loudmouth shipped for a little over 300. Its got a warranty, and sounds badass i must say. Also no baffles to break You should get what you pay for.
