Car is trying to die when coming to a stop
When come to a stop in my car it tries the rpm's fall really low and try to die. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
The cars mods are:
A4/stock stall
Mac headers/bullet muffler
lid
GMAF
I don't think that any of these mods could be causing it because they have all been on for quite a few months.
PLEASE!!! any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Blake

It does sound like a vaccuum leak. Have you recently messed with the egr or AIR system? If not properly sealed, you'll get a leak and you'll hear a sucking/hissing noise. This happened to me when I removed the egr from the intake manifold. I bent the tube and it didn't seal properly. It would barely idle and it almost died a few times.

Re: Car is trying to die when coming to a stop
My car used to do that occasionally, now it does it consistently.
It will drop to 4-500 rpms with the clutch in until the tires stop rotating, and then it goes right back up to 750 rpms.
It does it every time I come to a stop. It doesn't do with with the compressor on. It doesn't do it when the engine is cold.
The only thing I can imagine helping it would be a PCM update...but I don't know. There are no vacuum leaks and the idle is smooth. It just drops really low when coming to a stop.

Re: Car is trying to die when coming to a stop
Mine was doing it after the cam and header install. I've attributed it to too much fuel and lower RPMs (almost like flooding it out) Through the wonders of LS1Edit and adjusting the IAC position I've taken care of it.
So, you could try "increasing" or "opening up" you Idle Air Control position (or drilling out your TB hole <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
It's the basic of getting more air (less fuel)into the mixture at low RPMs, which is what your car is going into when you slow to a stop.
I'm not the LS1 guru but it's worth a try. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
