Kooks 304ss
Kooks 304ss I have heard, quite a bit, that a magnet should not stick to 304SS. I tested this on my Kooks headers and noticed a slight pull to the primaries. The magnet would not stay stuck to the header but did have some effect. I then tried the same magnet on the tips of my Magnaflow catback. No pull at all on the tips. I guess that means that the Magnaflow tips were made out of completely pure 304SS.
The headers are only a few months old and I have not noticed any rusting, just the usual browning effect. I have read about stainless headers rusting and I will be pissed if mine do the same. I shelled out the extra $$ to not have to worry about that ****. Whadda you think?

All 300 series SS (austenitic) are nonmagnetic in the annealed condition. But some may become slightly magnetic through cold working, which is how it is rolled and bent.

Thanks DBU. I installed them about 3 months ago and I really dig them so far. Installation was a breeze and they fit damn good. I read a post, somewhere, about a set of rusting Kooks headers, so I was just curious about the magnetic issue and rust. Take care
