An old fart reminisces
Yesterday my muffler surgeon did a dual exhaust for me. He handcrafted a 3" xpipe with no cats coming out of the Grots. After the Xpipe, two 3" pipes run out the back, under the axle ( yes, under), and then 2 Magnaflow, round 14" straight thru mufflers, tucked up underneath with 2 stub tail pipes.
Now I'm sure that some exhaust tip fanatics will say this is ugly. Yes it is, ugly as hell, but I love it.
As soon as I fired it up, I noticed a significant increase in throttle response. At cruising speed it responds much better to the throttle. Inside the car, it's no louder than before, but the annoying throb and pulsation is gone.
It's 38 degrees here tonight, but I started the car and sat in a chair behind it, drinking a beer, and just listened to that real V8 rumble. Sat there until the raw gas exhaust made my eyes burn so I shut it off and came inside.
An old fart is happy tonight. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I love the rumble of my '96 Imp with Dynomax Ultraflows, but the inlaws don't appreciate it when they ride in the back seat.
Ah, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and raw Cotuit oysters for dinner last night. It doesn't get much better than that for this OF.
