Default Anyone removed a Loudmouth?!? Help!!!

Posted this under another topic. Thanks to those that responded.

Here's my problem; I'm in the middle of installing a set of Hooker LTs and a true dual exhaust on my car. I'm only working on it a couple of hours each night; at this point, I've gotten everything removed, except for the &*@$* Loudmouth catback. I just put the thing on about 1,500 miles ago, but I cant get the junctions apart for the life of me.

So far I've tried some PB's penetrant, rubber mallet, heating it with a propane torch, and a lot of grunting, pushing, and pulling, but that damn thing won't come off. The over-axle junction is loose (I can swing swing the resonator pipe about 1 1/2"-2" in either direction, but I can't yank the damn thing off.

I really hate to use a sawsall, but if I did, where would the best place be to cut it so that I could resell the system and still have it be useable. Better yet, has anyone else had any luck with something other than what I've tried?

TIA!!!

Oh man, i know what ure talking about, i tried to get them off my LT1 before i sold it, but i couldnt, i tried and tried, but those joints just weld themselves together or something ! Me and my friend tried heating the pipes so they would expand while one of use pulled and tugged and twisted, but that didnt work either. Needless to say, we NEVER got them off. . I miss it.

I just went through the same thing. What I did was take a dremal and cut slots up to the point were the pipe was crimped by the clamps. This allowed some expansion of the outside pipe. Then I muscled it off. It wasn't easy but it worked. BTW, You may not be able to get the tips off either without cutting slots in them. The right tip will have to come off in order to take out the over the axle pipe. You need the room to maneuver this pipe.

Like the last post, I did the same thing with the dremel, lots of WD40 and lots of twisting/pulling. What happens is the clamp crimps the pipe and makes it a bit$h to get off. After replacing the resonator with a Borla I tried to use a band clamp on the over-the-axle junction point but it just wouldn't hold strong enough until I went back to the regular clamp.
