Default Dynomouth Question

People have been using the bullet muffler. Would a Ultraflo muffler fit? Its 20" long and 6" in diamter. Id like to have something quieter since I wont have cats.

I'm pretty sure 6" round is going to be too big. I think ground clearance will be the biggest problem, followed by driveshaft clearance. The bullet is 4" round and pretty tight to the underside of the car and the driveshaft. I have heard of folks using the Borla XR-1 round muffler, it is 5" round and has to be really tight. Unless you are getting a really good deal on the muffler and can afford it getting damaged in your experiment, I would try something else. Maybe the long bullet (#24219). You could also try 2 bullets... one 2.5" just in front of each exhaust tip. I've seen it done and you can't even see the bullet attached to each tip from behind the car.
Good luck
Dave

The Dynomax bullet is a tight fit in the space you have. If you make up a new I-pipe it could be done. The 6" diameter muffler is going to be too big. I have just enough space in there to clear everything.

There is not really enough room for a 6" muffler under the car.

Alright

Is there room after it goes over the axle? And then just run a 3" single exhaust?

I have a setup I run sometimes with an oval Dynomax behind the axle w/ a single 3" exit. Sounds good, not too loud. I'm going back to that soon, the exhaust volume since I installed the new converter is a bit much for a daily car.

I run the 3" Ultra-Flo(17223) behind the rear axle with a single outlet on the drivers side. It doesn't go all the way out to the bumper so it kind of has the V6 look <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I also used the Dynomax 3" Catback pipes, which cost less than $100, so I had the whole deal done for less than $200 installed.
