Default Large drop in gas mileage and now car cuts out at 2500rpm?

Not sure where I should post this but this seemed to be the best place.

I live in the Northeast and it has been cold here for about 2 months now. Hence, I have not done anything to my car. Last major thing I did was headers in early July. I've pretty much been driving around with the car 'as is' for about 3 months at least.

Anyway, the last month has been horrible on gas mileage. I used to get 18-19 mixed driving (daily commute, in town stuff, etc), and about 25 on the highway (road trip). Starting in October, I'm now seeing 15-16mpg mixed driving (same commute, nothing has really changed). I even went on a semi road trip for about half a tank, and still ended up at 16.1mpg at the next fill up. Car doesn't smell or act funny or anything.

Then, just yesterday, my car has been cutting off at 2500rpm exactly. As in, if I accelerate smoothly from a stop, when I hit the notch that indicates 2500rpm the car nose dives once or twice and then continues on (up to redline easily). Only 2500rpm. It's not really violent, it feels just like a car with a really low fuel tank or a dying fuel pump (if you've ever driven one). Car just kinda pauses once or twice at that rpm and then continues out strongly. No codes, no strange knock readings (I have scanmaster and autotap), coolant/trans temps are fine, car is fully warmed up, blah blah blah. Happens in any gear too I might add.

Stock engine with headers and other minor bolt ons. Really perplexing.

I thought I might also add that it does not happen in park/neutral. Only in gear.

Any ideas of things to check?

Ideas? I'll probably replace the fuel filter ASAP but it seems suspicious that it happens at a certain rpm only. Hmm.

Welp, figured it out. A piece of weatherstripping that I use to seal my lid to my filter had come unstuck and got sucked into the MAF. Thank god for MAF screens. It was lined up vertically, blocking the sensor wires. I took it off and the car feels like it gained 50hp, haha. Thanks for all the help *snicker*

I'm guessing you probably have a piece of weatherstripping or rubber blocking your MAF sensors.
