WTF?!?! Hitting rev limiter between 2nd and 3rd at WOT and won't shift WTF is wrong with my tranny? It's a 99 TA LS1 Auto with 36K on the dial. At WOT, the shift thru 1st and 2nd is great - but I'm hitting the rev limiter at the top of 2nd at about 6100-6200 rpm's and it won't shift until I let off the gas abit.
After experiencing that twice last night, the tranny has been acting kinda funny during shifts. While in D (which is technically OD) I will be cruising at about 60-70mph at 2k rpm and when I give it alittle gas, it revs up another 1k before it settles back down.
NEED HELP!!! The only mod I have is a series 50 FM muffler.

My car started doing that with the addition of a ST3500, then once I added LT headers it REALLY started doing the EXACT same thing.
WHY it happens I'm not sure. I will take it to a local shop that does a quick LS1Edit tune for $150. They are gonna raise rev limiter (main problem) remove TM, and adjust the shift points.
Beyond that, someone else should interject. Get the small tune and that should take care of your problem.

Solution: We installed an Aftermarket Oil Pan and the problem went away.

Re: WTF?!?! Hitting rev limiter between 2nd and 3rd at WOT and won't shift KASR, the 4l60e is touchy when it comes to having the right amount of fluid in it. If you ahven't done it in a while, change filter, sure a deep is always a good piece of insurance, running a cooler is good too. Check, recheck and check again the fluid level. When mine did this at the track, on 2-3 shift only, I was low about 1/2 pint, like a tiny bit on the stick from the full mark. Tha to me is just too touchy. Good-luck.

Re: WTF?!?! Hitting rev limiter between 2nd and 3rd at WOT and won't shift Check the fluid level when hot. If the level is fine try lowering the 2-3 shift point a few hundred rpm. If it still does it it's probably time for a tranny rebuild. Go with Alto clutches and a kevlar band.
