I was going to put it on my car and my girlfriends brother got it on his first and i am glad cause it is to much for me. sounds cool for awhile but gets very annoing in long run... i have a firehawk with dual dual and i love it. not loud to u get on it plus the headers i am about to install should give it that last bit of rumble..

I got the loudmouth and I love it! You will get different opinions on whether or not it is loud or not. When I first got it I thought it was so loud, but now it doesn't even bother me. I have actually went to an offroad pipe because it wasn't loud enough for me. IMO, I think it is just right if you are going to keep stock manifolds and/or cats. Plus the price is right.

It's not so much the noise as it is the DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE that you will get a headache from. What you could do is buy a used loudmouth then replace the resonator with a dynomax bullet muffler or a sweet thunder chambered muffler. www.sweet-thunder.com

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
i have one and if u like seeing every one of your hairs fall out as that cop gets behind u get a loudmouth.. a loudmouth is impossible to drive quiet . when your insurance doubles then u will be sorry. now i have to try and make it quieter

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
Does it vibrate a lot? I am thinking about getting the SLP Loudmouth Quad Exhaust kit. I am also about to put Hooker LT's w/offroad y-pipe. I want it loud, but I don't want a constant vibrating noise.

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
that vibratig noise is probably rasp. You usually get that when you run a offroad pipe. I had a straight pipe(close to what loud mouth is) on my car and loved it to death but as soon as I istalled the head/cam package with the macs and orp my car was insanely loud. I drove it like that all summer and loved it for the longest time but after a while the rasp got to me. I just put on a SLP dual dual system and it sounds great, night and day difference. So my theory is loud mouth is great if you keep the cats on a bolt on car but if you do internal mods or rip the cat off i guaratee it will bother you eventually

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
I am a freak for loud sportscars. I have the LM, and I love it!! When I first got it, I thought it was insanely (sp). Now, I barely notice it. I wouldn't mind it being a little louder. I may go w/ off-road pipes in the future. Also, I plan on getting LTs in the future...which should make it nice and loud!!

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
I've had my LM for about a month now. With the stock manifolds and Y it's not to loud.I like it because I can drive it loud or quiet with 2.73s.If i'm not on the throttle it's quiet. With the 2.73s I can idle through town at 1200 rpms. When I turn on the highway.....you will hear me coming.I am considering an aftermarket Y if it will make it louder.
Keep in mind that this is not my daily driver,i only drive mine in sunny weather.I live in Seattle.

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
I'm pretty sick of some of you people exagerrating how loud the loudmouth is. I've had it, and on a stock manifold car it is the best sounding catback in my opinion. It's not that loud. The drone is not bad at all, there is a little bit but not much. Its pretty tame imo until you open it all the way up. If you plan on headers I'd go with a different exhaust, its just not the best sounding exhaust with headers.

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
The LM is great on a stock manifold car, but once you put LTs on it gets a little to loud and raspy(with ORPs not to sure how it sounds with cats). With a nice cam it really starts to drone your head into the ground while driving around(WOT is awesome, but that's about it)...Mine is getting way to loud so I think I'll put my cats on to quiet it down a bit If that doesn't work out even after the Head swap then I think it's time for me to get that darn Corsa--but all this talk of them breaking sure isn't reassuring at all What the heck I'll just jump on the bandwagon and go to an X-pipe or true duals with either Mecham or Corsa tips
Forgot to add, I had a Flowmaster catback on my car when it was stock and in comparison to a LM on a stock car, the Flowmaster has nothing on the LM

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
The LM loudness wasn't the problem for me, it was the high level of drone, vibration and rasp.
Give a listen to a GMMG, not cheap but loud, flows well, with none of the LM negatives.

Re: loudmouth really that loud?
Hey well atleast its going through a resonator and not just going straight through like wide open Borla. I still don't see why the Borla isn't louder when you leave it wide open compared to the LM. IMO the LM is definantly tameable, its only when you start adding headers and ORY pipes that you start getting a little noisy.
