Are you talking about changing the shim thickness as opposed to buying an aftermarket thermostat? If you are, go to http://www.ls1camaro.net/highres.htm and click on modifications and then "Converting Stock Thermostat."

Just to set the record straight, Steve Harmon (formerly known as JustMe) invented this mod, Joe simply decided to modify a bunch of them and sell them on his own.

I did this mod and I used a 3/16" piece of a screw (one with a flat end, not a tapered one) and it turned my thermo into about a 160 unit (I would see highway temps on Autotap of about 175 on a 70F day)
