How bad do gutted cats sound?

And Mac's Headers sound like crap with gutted cats and a cut-out, unless you put a bullet muffler in the Y-pipe
I think I'll like the one chamber 10-series FM in the IM pipe if I do put in a muffler.

<strong>What kinda cat-back do you have?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have the OEM (Y2Y) dual-dual cat-back. I just checked the SLP catalog, and it says the intermediate pipe is 3" --- at least the one they sell now is.....
