Directions - FLP header install guide?
Has anyone had problems with the FLP LT's clearance?? I would like to lower my car with probably the BMR springs since they claim a one inch drop, but I am accounting for some kind of settle too. I know SLP's have clearance issues even with full stock ride height. MAC's are what I want, but can't find a y pipe with high flow cats for it. Apparently MAC makes pretty crappy y and cats. Any help in this would be appreciated.
In my opinion, FLPs are one of the easiest headers to install-good pick of the bunch . Remember, jack up the front of your car and the old manifolds come out through the bottom and the new headers slip right up into place from the bottom as well I found installing these headers to be a very easy install compared to many other headers out there (SLP/MAC)
You will need O2 Sims (4 wire square plug) and I think two O2 Sensor extensions 12"
Yeah, I also used the install document off of ls1info.com and found it to be very informative.
As far as Macs go, I think that the quality of the headers are up to par for the price they cost, however, they are difficult to install and the Y-pipe really really sucks-well then again, the FLP Y-pipe is not much better anyways About the only problem that I ran into with my FLPs was the oil plug barely came out do to the tight clearance. Be sure to check that out before you fully tighten down your passenger header. If it's to tight, pick up a shorter oil plug bolt.
Good luck

FLPs are great. I know instructions are out there. I couldn't find the link to the site I used. But what I will suggest is getting new spark plugs and wires. There will never be a better chance to install them as you'll have when the headers are out. I did my own header install and it was the first header install I'd done.
I'll make a few suggestions:
-Soak the old manifold bolt in WD-40 the night before and again about an hour before you start.
-Have a Saws-All cause you will need to cut a few inches off the I-Pipe to get the FLP Y-Pipe in.
-If you have Double Diamond Sub Frame Connectors you'll also need the Saws-All to cut the front most support to make clearance for the Y-Pipe. Don't worry this is not the major load bearing peice of the SFC.
These are the only things I ran into that I wasn't expecting. If I think of more I'll post up later.
