Almost all of our sponsers sell smog leagal headers. FLP, Grot, SLP, they all make longtubes with cats, egr and air injection ports. Really the only one thats not is Hooker and thats just because they dont have cats in there ORY. HOWEVER, you can get a custom Y-pipe made with cats installed. So pretty much which ever way you want to go is good. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Yeah I think every header comes with the air tubes and EGRs fittings.....Just have to get cats welded into the Y pipe. I've read that good cats are made by random tech and carsound.......Latest test I have heard about that the Random Techs are better flowing and can withstand more....But thats what I read so who knows

I think the only *truly* smog-legal headers are the shorties that bolt up to the stock y-pipe. Hooker and JBA make some.

Jake is correct!
The only headers that have CARB (California Air Resource Board) approval tags are the shorties by JBA, Hooker, and Edelbrock.
Since you have an '01 car that already has the improved exhaust manifold design, you would gain little to nothing by adding them to your car.
You can try to do Long Tubes or Mid-Lengths and use catalytic converters... many people around here do. But keep in mind that getting a smog check will not be as simple as just pulling into any smog station and it might cost you a little extra if you even get lucky enough to find a sympathetic station <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> . Also the cops might give you some trouble if they want to be real asses, they don't have to be very "car savy" to look for CARB exemption # tags. With all of this ricer/street racer stuff going on right now I'm sure that they will be cracking-down on this stuff a little more soon.

You might want to do a "search" on this topic, it has been covered alot in this forum.

The Long Tube Headers with pass the sniffer test. It is the visual test that you have to worry about. Many cars pass anyway since many of the inspectors do not know what a stock f-body looks like anyway.
