FLP headers installed
FLP headers installed Picked up my car today from FLP. Had them installed the headers and y-pipe (w/ cats). Drove all the way home, about 60 miles, over some really rough street. No banging, no nothing. Fit is perfect. When I got home I checked the oil filter and found I only lost a little less than 3/8 of an inch of clearance. The old cat was a little less then a inch away from the oil filter, Now there is about 1/2 inch between oil filter and header pipe. Drive was about two hours long and filter looked fine afterwards. Filter was not too hot, as I was able to touch it with my bare hand. Will check the drain plug during next oil change. Finally, took turns both ways and no hangup on steering column bolt.
Mitch and the guys at FLP did a great job. Top notch work and great people to deal with.
Can't wait to play with the car over the weekend.

Do you know if any tuning was required with your install? I have read that LTs often make the engine run pig rich.

I am having my FLPs installed wednesday. Tuning seems to vary from car to car, but I am having mine done at Rapid (has LS1 edit) just incase. Will post results later this weekend.

Re: FLP headers installed I did some atap and used the excel spreadsheet that was given out (averages your LTFT for fuel cells 5-15 and your O2 for >80% TPS). My LTFT average around 2.5 so I am running a litle lean but not much. I have not done any WOT runs yet but with the little amount of fuel it is adding (2.5) I don't think it will effect my WOT O2s that much. We will wait and see.
This was done with the cats on.

Re: FLP headers installed ..what cat-backs are you running with your FLPs? I'm installing them initially with a stock cat-back but plan to later go with an after-market cat...
...thinking about hooker or loudmouth ...need something that is relatively cheap... $700 for a cat-back muffler seem rediculous to me!
