1camwndr,
FYI, We saw a 23 RWHP gain over the stock manifold with the Holley manifold and 7 or 8 RWHP gain over the LS6 manifold. I haven't checked the prices lately but the last time I looked the LS6 manifold sells for about the same price. Yes, if you want the manifold to perform you will have to port match it to the heads. 1 advantage it has over the lS6 is that you can open up the throttle body mounting bore to allow big T/B's to bolt directly to it. I believe the Holley has more potential for HP gains than do any of the GM produced manifolds not only on the big cubed cars but for the 346 CIDs as well.

The only thing I gained going to the Holley was a blown head gasket due to their fitment issues in the beginning. Needless to say, I'd recommend staying with the LS6. The comments above are accurate in saying the porting capability with the Holly is probably only beneficial to the larger cubed engines.
I seriously doubt any significant gains on a 346.

OK Mark. Point taken. It is not gonna be in the cards for me though. An LS6 intake will do fine for me. Thanks for the info though.

On the Larger Motors The LS6 still prove too be making power, I have Build SR cars that pulled too 8000RPM with a LS6.
with that said there's alot too gain from the ported Intake. We have seen a solid .2 tenth and 2MPH at the track,
One of the Race junkie modarators will be running a Ported Intake in the next few days. We will here from him on how that work out.
plus BAD Z will be running his soon.
The ported Intake already proves to be better than a LS6, It's about $1200 when ported and ready too go.
It makes about 20-25 solid RWHP over the LS1 and 8 too 10 over a LS6.
That's $46-$60 per HP over a LS1
And $70-$87 per HP over a LS6
now ported Heads is average $60-$90 per HP
LS6 is about $40-$60 per hp.
Headers is $40 - $55 per HP.
The Cobra in your Rear view mirror - Priceless.
Point being that the Ported Intake is not expencive, if you have a LS1 intake. If you already have a LS6, you might want too spend your cash on the cheaper mods. Till you really need the Ported Intake.

Hello, Im the person who made the post. Ive been everything yall been comenting on. So here is my final question. I really dont need the holley if I dont want or have the money to port it and if Im not going to make the motor bigger, correct?? I might do a cam, but thats it. I dont even know if Im going to do that. I want to see how far I can go with just bolt-ons. So how much power does the stock holley intake produce over the stock LS6. Thanks again guys.

Without trying to insult anyone and not trying to sound like a know-it-all, let me just say that for your application, if you already have an LS6 - keep it. You won't see gains worth the money you spend on the Holley intake. Even with your future plans, you won't need the Holley. On the other hand, if you don't have the LS6 intake, then buy either one you want as it sounds like they'll be close performance wise.
I run a heads and cam car with LS6 intake - 7.1 1/8 mile (on my way to 11.2 1/4) with 1.5 60-foot. Let the numbers do the talking.

When the Holley first came out, someone did a back to back dyno run of the two. He posted the graph on the other site. They were both virtually identical. This was on a stock engine.
