Damn the Fernco mod was a pain....
I dont know how many of you bothered to do this but i got bored and while walking through Lowes i picked up a Ferco for $6, i guess saving $44 was worth it instead of the SLP Bellow, and the rubber is so stiff that it doesnt suck in like some people said it would.

another option is the baker hose, its only 20 bucks. the fernco didnt work for me it kept popping my lid off as soon as i started the car. it was too stiff but once it goes on its easy to get off and on because it stretches. i microwaved mine for 10 seconds and that helped too.

I tried the damn fernco!...but it too kept popping my lid off...well the clamps! at least...so i just threw it crazy...I tried putting a different piece of hose which was a little stiffer and harder but oh well....I'm not gonna risk my lid!!!...I'll try something else later....for about 2 to 3 hp!...its not worth the hassle!!

Fernco's are for Plumbers, which I am. They aren't the hot setup for our LS-1's. Too heavy, too stiff. Believe it or not, although a little steep pricewise, the SLP piece is the best thing to use. MYO. Best wishes. WJ.

ahhh fooey...i've been using the fernco for about 6 months with no problems at all. my lid tabs are fine. i used a microwave to make it more pliable. It sort of held that shape.

****, i used a razor blade to cut out some pieces to fit more onto the throtle body, and with the engine heat it flexes fine, no broken tabs it almost fits like stock, less than a 1/4 inch off, i think ill save my $44, SLP can kiss it

My reply is directed at those new guys reading this post and considering doing this themselves. Just want them to know what it 'can' do to the lid they may have just purchased. Just because some of you have been lucky so far, why take the gamble? Fact is, the lid tabs will be stressed using it. Anyone need a broken direct flow lid by the way, I'll sell ya one cheap?
