MAF.....good or bad???
Someone told me down here in the Austin Texas area, that its a bad idea....something to do with weather conditions and running rich or lean.
Can someone elaborate on this subject please.
I do not have the MAFT...do I have to have it?
Current mods if it matters are listed in sig.
Thanks,
Chris.

Or is this one of those situations where you have to drive the car 50-100 miles for the computer to 'learn' the change?
I don't have any personal experience with SLP's 85mm MAF. BUT, there are plenty of guys here that run 10's and 11's on the stock MAF. IMO, you're better off using the mod money somewhere else. You should give it a shot though since you already have it. Swapping them out at the track may not give accurate results. I believe the computer will have to re-learn everything.

You wont be able to switch out the MAFs easily in that the computer will be set up for one or the other and changing it without reprogramming will screw you A/F and possibly your timing. For what it is worth the semptember issue of Gm HighTech Performance tested one and reported 5 hp gain. But they had a tune and drove it for 500 miles, they also had the smooth bellows too.

Do you have access to ATAP or scanner of any kind? If you do, you could check and see what your a/f is before and after. Then check again after 150 miles or so. From what I understand your PCM will eventually "learn" the new airlow and adjust accordingly. Every car does respond differently to these. To use it you may end up having to use a MAFT. And no, you can't just swap it (and the stock one back and forth) at the track. Good luck.
