FBC seems to have some sponsored cars with pretty good numbers, and I'd neard nothing but good things about them, but if anyone has other suggestions...
Nothing but good things? I disagree.

I was not treated with much courtesy or respect when I went there. I love their solution of more mods when there's obviously another issue that needs to be addressed. Those numbers seem too low to be normal. I'd suggest getting on something other than a mustang dyno. A leakdown would probably be an even better idea.

PM sent about a much better tuner. FWIW...I've heard good things about Green Light motorsports.

Did you watch the Dyno run cause you probly made more hp (with those mods)and they are just trying to sell you more mods. You should do a service including filters etc(K&N for Air and oil ),do a lid and a tune as you have the worst computer in a LS1.

since your car is 8 years old, seriously man, seafoam it. it's less than 6 bucks a bottle. i bet you you'll pick up 10hp from cleaning all that crap out, plus you'll get to completely dust a quarter mile of road with blue smoke.

i did that with my V6 firebird 3.4L. i pull out of my friend's dad's shop after dumping some seafoam through my brake booster, letting it sit for 15 mins, then letting it run for 10 mins to warm up...i turned a quarter mile of highway blue. it looked like i was burning oil like God hated my car. cars were driving into it and hitting their brakes. everyone at the shop was laughing their asses off. the best part was, some guy was delivering tires and goes to my friend's dad (mind you, i never met this guy, ever) "there's somethin' WRONG with that kid." 10hp and a great story to tell for 6 bucks. do it!

(remember, you're not gaining hp, just recovering lost hp from years of carbon buildup. it wouldn't hurt to run seafoam twice, feed half the can slowly into the brake booster, run it for 100 miles and do it again. if you want more instructions PM me if you never did this before).

Well, we are not sponsors on this board, but since everyone feels free to question us and presume much - I'm gonna post up!

I tuned the car and I can tell you it is in need of a topend cleaning for sure - 12.5:1 AFR and 25* of timing should not be rattling its a$$ off. And the numbers were only at 5k rpm cause I lifted when it detonated. Also, we don't lock convertors on the dyno unless the customer wants to sign a waiver stating they demand it - too many of them out there have been trashed in the name of numbers.

Putting a cam and headers on a car with a stock lid, LS1 intake, and one dirty a$$ paper filter is not a good idea. When the engine is running at 90kpa at WOT, it is pulling a vacuum on the intake tract and being choked off - that is what you have. And what kinda muffler is that with a single inlet and single outlet - as quiet as it is, I'm thinkin it isn't flowing much.

It is about the whole package - putting a cam in without the supporting parts isn't gonna magically give you big numbers on a dyno. We did not try to push any more parts on you - we simply told you what you needed to achieve better results. If you don't want to spend the money, we will run top end cleaner through it and get you a good tune with the parts you have and that is the best we can do. I just wanted to clear the air...

Xtnct00WS6,
Please see the above concerning your comment about the mods. And if your car was tuned by me since I have been working there and you have issues, let me know and I will be glad to take care of them for you - if it was not tuned by me, I would appreciate you not PMing others about a better tuner when you obviously have no idea what kind of tuner I am and no first-hand experience with my work...

I do have first hand experience with your work. You're initial tune gave me a lot of hesitation in the 2000 rpm range and after Jason test drove it he told me it was the suspension. Jason seems to be a good guy, but I got the feeling I was told it was the suspesion so I would be on my way and u all could get to other customers. Not very professional to knowingly send a customer off with a bad tune.

You mocked a lot of what I said when I asked questions about the tune and I didn't appreciate that at all. I have a pretty thick skin, but there was no need for that. Don't you think I'd be curious about what's being done to MY CAR?

I gave you all a second chance to fix it and I've been happy with the tune ever since. Your customer service skills just have a lot of room for improvement! I pm'd the other guy cause I don't like publically bashing a shop.

I remember exactly who you are. When I tuned your car, I had just started here and we did not have the latest software that integrates a wideband for the entire tune - when we got the new stuff, I asked you to come back in so I could go over it and make it better. I went to great lengths to contact lots of customers to come back in for free improvements. You weren't charged anything and you seemed happy with the results. I'm sorry you feel the way you do - all we were trying to explain to you about the hesitation is that you can't lug a car down in a high gear and expect it to take off when you nail it. I don't remember ever trying to mock you or anything like that and I apologize if it ever came off that way. Everyone can improve and I would like to think we have over the last year. Again I apologize for the past and hope you are happy now.

In all fairness, I was never contacted. I came back in cause I got headers and needed a tune. I bought the unlimited tune so I could keep coming back for free. The hesitation had nothing to do with nailing it, it was just a poor tune. I'm glad I went back cause it did get fixed and it's been running strong ever since. I even called Jason the following day to tell him to thank u for a great tune. Maybe all the hurdles have been passed in regards to the tuning at FBC.
