extending 02 sensor
extending 02 sensor My seller with 02 extension has backed out, so I am going to make my own 02 extension. My queston is what gauge wire do I need. Some one said if I use the wrong wire it will still set off a code. Any help would be appreciated.
I extended mine after they burned up a bit. I just eyeballed it, but if you're worried just go a bit thicker and you'll be fine.
Just make sure you're connecting the right wires together. I believe there are 4 all together.

yeah i just did the same thing when my o2 sensor plug burnt up from the contact with the header since the extension was to long, and i just use the rear O2s plug and cut it where i need it and spliced the new plug to the front O2s wiring. problem fixed.

Verdad Gallardo actually the two wires that are the same color are the brown wires not the purple wire. just look at the plug itself and match it up before you cut it and then remember which is which, plus they are labeled with A,B,C, and D so just remember and dont mix those two wires up.
