Default Need help w/spark plugs & LT`s

Well, try as I might, I could not get the pass. side #8 rear most plug in with the Hookers on. I`m sure this has been asked a million times but what`s the trick to getting that sucker in there? I`ve got the plug socket stuck on there right now and I`ve removed the #6 & #4 coils but still can`t get back in there! Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

You have to get that one from underneath the car. It's a major PITA.

pull the entire coil pack bracket and the AIR tube.

Do yourself a favor and don't re-install the back coil packet bolts that secure it to the valve cover. My car only has the front 3 on either side.

Also, I have found it easier to put the plug wires on the spark plug before putting the coil packs back on the valve cover, then plug the wires into the coil pack. Then re-install the AIR tube.

Thanks for the replys fellas. Looks like I`ll have to remove the coil pack bracket, there is no way that I can see getting to it from the bottom with these headers on! You would have to have SKINNY arms to get up there and my forearms are huge from stroke`n my muskrat so much!

Maybe '99's are different, but I had no problem getting mine in from the top after I put my Hookers on. Never removed the coil pack. I just had to practically lay on top of the engine compartment and go by feel, but it was a cakewalk compared to getting that damn rear header bolt out/in.

Well I finally got it in. After removing the coil pack bracket it allowed me to get my hand back in there and get the plug started. Part of the problem was that the locking tab portion of the Stage 8 bolt was not allowing the plug socket to go on the plug straight. I swear that the factory put those 10 mm bolts with the sharp nipples on the coil packs to tear your arms and knuckles to shreds and make you take it to the dealer for service! Just for the record, I removed all the A.I.R. lines and A/C equipment before the install and still had a hard time with that #8 plug. How you guys get to it with all that stuff is beyond me. The header install was not bad at all but I could not get my torque wrench on hardly any of the bolts to try to get the suggested 20-25 lb ft the Hooker instructions called for. I just went as tight as I could with a 1/4 drive ratchet and locked down the Stage 8`s and hope it doesn`t leak. I just wish I could have ordered the car w/o A/C. Then , without that big a$$ blower motor housing in thew way that #8 plug would be a breeze! Thanks for the help guys. Later.
