What Temp. Is Stock 2001 Camaro SS Thermostat?
You can disassemble the LS1 thermostate and shim the housing where the pin sits to decrease the opening temp. This is a common free modification...I used tin foil as the shim but you can use other materials too ,,,anything to raise the pin hieght in the housing....

gauge and even with the 160F thermostat I will
run around 200F city driving, cools off depending
on OAT and speed ( hwy ).
This summer 98F daytime cruize at 75mph AC on max
car was running around 220 with 160F thermostat
on long trip, the ac off was about 215F..
