asp pulley ? please help
I bought a asp pulley used. The rubber that seals the aluminum hub in the center to the ribbed part of the pulley. The rubber part has a couple of cracks in it.I was wondering if anybody else's pulley has these.I am just kind of weiry about putting it on the car without asking.

Re: asp pulley ? please help
You better contact ASP on that one. Considering the load on that pulley and the speed it turns cracks don't sound good. I wouldn't chance it until I talked to them first. If that thing flies apart at 5K it won't be pretty.

Re: asp pulley ? please help
The rubber is the insulator between the actual pulley suface (ring) an it's hub. More than likely cracks in will not affect the performance.
If it's a newer (< '99) pulley, it also has 3 retaiing pins that connect the two pieces through the rubber.
As suggested.. give ASP a call...

Justin, I can't say about a ASP pulley but if it were a stock unit it would be time to think about changing it, I think you've made the right choice by contacting ASP to see what they say. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Re: asp pulley ? please help
Well I talked to ASP and they had me send the pulley to them. They called me at work today and said that the pulley should not have done that.He (Lee) said that they were going to keep the pulley to test it.He seems to think that the injection molding was to brittle and they are going to do some testing. On the up side he is sending me a new pulley. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I bought the pulley used here on the board and was not told from the guy that it had cracks in it.I was just afraid I was going to be stuck with it.I just wanted to let everyone know that they should not crack.
Thanks
