Default Header install fun....

Well for starters my floor jack does not travel high enough to do the pass side so ill have to put it on my blocks or something...

but the big issue is on the driver side there is a 1 inch square block coming off of the block. this is the only issue in my way of placing my driver side header in.

has anyone else had this issue, because i was under the impression that pacesetters just slide right in place...

Some people get them in without removing the metal tab, some don't. Do you have the oil filter off? That helps. And also, the driver's side is the one that I needed the car higher up for. I had the driver's side header standing almost straight up and down to slip it in and it was still A tight fit. I had to maneuver it around for a while before I got it up there.

Take a break and try again. Good luck.

It's really sitting on those 6-ton jackstands, I would definatly NOT get under the car without them.

Dont worry about that little block, just cut it right off. I used a sawzall (It cuts aluminum like butter) I just took off about 1/4" of it and the header slid right in.

Take off some of the heat shielding for the passenger side, should help a bit.
The drivers, just grind/cut some of that block off, header will slide right in.
Make sure it's 2 feet from k member to floor, did mine that way, and both sides went in fine

my oil filter didnt get in the way, it was the oil diveter that was hitting it, once i took that off, it slid right in, just had to wiggle it around for a couple seconds.

i didnt have to take off the steering linkage or cut the metal tab, but it came damn close when i slid it in

The jack has a 26" max height (Craftsman 3 ton jack) so no wood or any other extra spacers required
