If you've done this, what wires are you using, and what lengths? Winter project, Thanks in advance...

Just curious, why are people moving the coil packs?

I'm using MSD wires. The kit is a cut-to-fit LT1 kit (LT1 optispark end matches our coil ends), but I had to buy a set of straight spark plug boots, since all the LT1 kits I could find came with 90deg boots.

The MSD's were a PITA to make up (the boots are very tough to get on the wires). I've done some cut-to-fit Taylor wires in the past that were a joy to work with, so I would go that route if I had to do another set.

George C , are your coil packs under the cowl somewhere, how hard was it to mount them there, seems like their is no room to work under it .

George, how are you venting off the valve covers? Exhaust? I'm curious how to do the tall covers without the PCV setup.

DUCT-TAPE!!!!!!!!!!

Hey George, you gonna try for the street legal event this weekend? I heard they were gonna run a street legal event and then the midnight madness from a customer, but I am not positive about that. Might be able to locate you a set of wheels and tires too. If they are running the midnight madness thing, you can meet me at my house and we can swap the tires and drive in or something. I can haul everything in my truck too.

So do I need a 90, 135, or 180 deg. boot? I was looking at the Moroso Ultra 40's and the Taylor 409's. Any special style I need to fit our coil packs? Thanks again...PS nice engine pic

Yep, ARE fabricated aluminum valvecovers. I have no PCV system on the car, just a header mounted crankcasew evac system that's plumbed in to the two breathers you see in the picture.

The coils are way back under the cowl. I put them as far back as I could, so that I'd still have room to get the valvecovers on/off, but it's still tight. They're mounted on aluminum brackets which are bolted to the bottom side of the cowl.

Kevin, yeah, I'm probably going to come out Friday. I'm supposed to be selling a pair of my slicks, so I may put my old worn out radials on that pair of wheels so I can drive the car there. Find out what they're doing as far as the midnight stuff...

The companies I've called have been no help, and just argue about it, so I wanna make sure I got it all right? btw what is difference between HEI and socket ign, and which we have? Thanks

I just called Summit to order, and the sales guy told me to call Taylor about the p/n, because he had no idea. I called Taylor, and spoke to a guy, I told him what I wanted and why, and he got a major attitude with me on the phone, an LT1 is not an LS1, and it's not gonna work don't you get it...wow. Some people are so great to deal with...
