Rasp?

Well got the tr230 cam into my 01 TA. I now need headers and a Y pipe to hook up to my borla exhaust. Problem being is ive heard alot of people saying it will get raspy as hell even with a catted Y pipe. I dont want to make my car sound like **** by doing this. What should I do? Ive been to lS1 sounds but that dosent do **** compared to hearing the car in person. Will this setup be annoyingly loud in the car while driving?

Aluminum blocks will give you more rasp. You can tell by owning an LT1 and then getting an LS1.

get a 12" dynomax bullet muffler and weld it into the Ipipe

I had a similar set up. LT's... ORY... Borla cat back. Rasp was pretty bad. I just installed a TSP catted Y pipe. Took about 80% of the rasp out of it. Cats do make a big difference when it comes to the exhaust sound.

It would be about as good as you're going to get with LT's. I think you will be pleased with it. Cats do alot to refine the tone. I have dual 3" magnaflow cats welded into my TSP true dual system.

Does it matter if I put bullet cats in myself or are the ones already in the Y pipe better? (Like the tsp catted Y)

The TSP y-pipe is probably going to be better, with less hassle. You should just order that one.

Those cats flow plenty untill you make tons more HP.
