still problems with my TB
I've been having problems making my car idle after a newly ported TB. It was idling at like 2grand. So I adjusted the idle screw as far down as it would go... now on startup it will idle fine, but when I start driving around it will go back and start to idle at 1500rpm again! WTF. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> Also, eversince I installed it, the throttle has been "sticky" for the very first 1/4" of pedal travel. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but I have to press decently hard to get it to move, and this makes the car hard to drive smoothly.

First question who ported the TB? Second any adjustments made to the TB other than porting? I suggest you contact Bret Bauer. He ports TB's. He may have some helpful info for you. Email below.

Alex, if your TB porter is like me, he pulls butterfly out of TB to port it. It sounds like your TB needs butterfly to be centered and retightened, Not a big deal but you have to know what your doing, also is idle hole in blade on top? If not your blade could be in upside down. Be sure to have throttle stop adjusted up enough to keep blade from binding also, if idle is too high after idle relearn than you may have too big a idle hole in blade.

I home-ported mine and it doesn't "stick"
at all. To seat the blade, just loosen up
the Torx screws and let the throttle spring
snap it shut a couple of times, then tighten
in place.
The throttle blade hole shouldn't be fucked
with on a normal car, the IAC takes care of
setting up the idle.
You should check the throttle cables and,
if you can catch it idling high while parked,
see whether it's down on the stop screw or
not; push it down and see if it's really a
mechanical bind, or the idle control system
that's in charge.
