Default spark plug install

Hey guys. Im installing new plugs as soon as they come, and im using the method on install university. Now when it comes to puting the coil pack rail back on on the passenger side of the engine, itsays to torque the bolts to 106in-ft torgue. now im not a big mechanic, this is my first engine im getting dirty with, how does 106 in-ft torque convert over to ft-lb or newton-metric?

Divide lb/in by 12 to get lb/ft. I would just carefully tighten it back down w/o overdoing it.

Just gently snug them up. No reason to straining your guts out when tightening them down. :-)

When my friend, 35th SS showed me how to change plugs, he didn't use a torque wrench for coilpacks
just tighten them normally, normal tools.

the best thing to do is put a inch/pounds tq wrench on your wish list for x mas <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

you will always need it for something

craftsmen sells them for 50-60bucks and thats what i have(best for the buck)

I don't know if InstallUniversity mentions this but you might want to stick a rag into the motor mount area, that might sound dumb but it won't if you drop a plug into it. Here's a picture of some tools that can help when changing plugs.

Get a swivel for the socket wrench and a nice extension and you will be alot happier. I cant change them with my headers until i get the swivel i tried and i dont think its possible.

gwj,

Actually, you want to multiply lb/in to get lb/ft <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

1 lb/in = 12lb/ft
