like the subject says, does anyone? Cause the truck intake manifold has bigger runners and ports and flows better.

Get the LS6 intake like you plan. When you have the stock intake off, before you put the LS6 intake in, try to put the truck intake on there. Maybe you'll be the one to figure a way to do it. You can take the credit and teach us all what you did. If it doesn't work, you got the LS6 intake right there to finish the job.
Good luck

Aight, I guess i'll just have to try and see. I figured i'd just check all the boards. A friend of mine actually has both intakes in hand, so while it's off, may as well try and get that truck one in there, if not, got the ls6! Thanks man!

Have at it..
.. seen one on an F-body... didn't clear the cowl.
Basically the owner was afraid of starting the motor in fear of breaking the windshield.. it was that tight.
IMO: That $1200 windshield isn't worth the $300 for a LS6 intake.

Time for solid engine mounts.

....and massage that cowl area with a good heavy mallet . I was looking at mine today; and for some reason; the bottom of the cowl(behind the screens for the fresh air to the A/C and Heater underneath the wipers)has about a 1/2" depression in it right over the intake manifold. If we could make that level with the rest of that area; the truck intake might work with solid engine mounts.
Maybe.
Maybe.

WILWAXU: I had the benefit of seeing another thread he posted on this subject. He apparently has the truck intake 'in hand'... at least in a friend's hands. He is also planning on getting an LS6 intake if the truck intake wouldn't work.
I would have told him that nobody has gotten one to fit, but if he is going to have the intake off his car for a swap, and has access to the truck intake to try... I figured "why not?".
I would do the same in his shoes and just go forward with the LS6 when it fell through.
You never know. This might be the guy that comes up with some way to do it. Maybe he shortens the engine mounts by .5" or something crazy like that and does it. Never know...
Just letting you know my thought process.

OK, how much more does the truck intake flow over the LS6? Can it be that much, I mean f*ck it, if this biotch flows that damn much, let me get my hands on it and I'll cut the fricking cowl depression out, besides that, i can relocate my coil packs......How thick is the polymer intake, can you shave the top flat as well, hell even a 1/8" will get it that much closer!

Assuming someone got this intake to work.. Would it be more for a "street" car (low end torque), or for a higher rpm head/cam type of setup?
Enlighten me please.

Re: Does anyone know how to get a truck intake manifold to fit in a Camaro?
Has anyone dynoed the truck intake? Im guessing that since its designed for truck applications its gonna have longer runners for more lowend torque rather than shorter runners for top end hp.
If this is the case it will probably make less power than the ls6 intake. Id dyno it on the engine dyno before going through the trouble to put it on. It could be a waste of time and effort.

Since it is a TRUCK intake it is going to be better at making low-end torque. How much will it kill high RPM power????? I don't know. It would make a killer intake for a mostly street car though.
Any thoughts on what it would do in a forced induction motor??

Some else posted this data but it seems like it should be useful here too.

Put a homemade torque strap ( ratcheting come along ) on the engine ( alternator bracket to K frame ) to keep it form shaking. Go dyno it and see what happens I am wondering...

Re: Does anyone know how to get a truck intake manifold to fit in a Camaro?
OK. So what about cam phasing/timing events with a short runner vs. long runner intake manifold? I mean if you have Stage II LS1 heads with a long runner manifold what would you need to do to the cam to make it work like the current H/C/Intake?
And then would it make more torque with similar hp?
