LS6 intake over stock LS1?

I picked up 9rwhp moving from an LS1 intake to an LS6 intake on a head/cam car. Much less than a lot of people have experienced.

the bottom of the LS6 intake will be flat, the LS1 has curve or inverted arch along the bottom middle. also the LS6 intake will not have the hole right behind the TB for the EGR.

Also, I would suggest getting headers before an LS6 intake. I did the LS6 intake first and my results were unimpressive. SAE max pre-LS6 was 316. After the intake with no tuning was 314, but the AFR had jumped )0.8-0.9. I pulled it back down to 13.0 or a little lower and it went to 317. Added timing from the stock values and got 323. The difference between each graph was uniform (ie. gains were across the board). I still have 98 manifolds, cats and the pancake Y-pipe so I know there's a lot left. Just letting you know my situation so you can make an informed decision. Good luck which ever path you choose.

get the ls6 and port your stock tb. it will give better results than the 80 mm bbk imho.

Would I need any other special parts to do the Ls1 to LS6 swap? Can I used existing gaskets and wires?

Can I use a ported stock tb with a LS6 intake? Will it flow right or will I need a different setup? Give me all the info that would help me the best. I have a lid, magnaflo cat back , ram air hood, should I go with the headers and y-pipes 1st or the ported tb and LS6 intake 1st? Or a 3600 stall? Which one would you guys suggest on going 1st?

are there any downfalls for a 3600 stall for a A4 t/a? and is it worth the $, would you guys suggest anythin else besides what I have listed?

3600 stall first, throw on a trans oil cooler while you're at it. You can do some research over in the automatic tranny section for more info on that. The stall will put a huge smile on your face.

I'd suggest headers/y-pipe before the LS6/TB, as they will net more power.

The LS6 intake will require you to buy new a new coolant pipe and 2 plugs (only a couple of bucks). There's been a few threads about it this week. You can use the existing gaskets/wires. Do a search and you'll find some info with the whole swap procedure.

If I do a lot of highway driving, would the stall still put a smile on my face knowing that the stall is best at launch?

for me the 10 hp gain isn't worth the $300 bucks for the intake, Stall first is what i did. the highway driving isn't a problem since the stall will be locked up cruising at those speeds. i'd get a 3200-3500 if i had it to do over
