ok guys im going true dual on my car but im afraid to get pulled so i know with dumped ill get messed with but there just so nice sounding. so my question is what you guys think dumped or out the back under the axle for $$$ reasons?

 

They aren't legal either way, so you might get messed with. If I was going to do them, I'd probably just dump them to save weight and $$. I've heard true duals with the magnaflow bullets, and they were suprisingly quiet.

 

ya either way whatever true duals you run, your relocating the cats therefore your illegal. out the back is for looks and depending on your budget you can make that choice. dumping them will save weight and money and give you a nice sound on all sides of the car. dumps also have a drawback of blowing *** all over the back end of your car. i have have a y-pipe dumped and can only imagine what two dumps is like.... i'm soon to be runnin true duals dumped though within the next month

 

Dumps here. It is more sketchy with them cause you have nothing coming out the back. To a cop, thats enough to pull you over.

 

you are going to want the pipes exiting out from under the car somewhere. CA law states that exhaust gases must exit out from under the car via side or out the back (just not dumped). He in the Sac. area, I wouldnt even risk it with all the crackdowns they are doing. They are starting to pull people over for just having chrome tips! Its modified exhaust and they can ticket you for it.

 

Chrome tips lol! CA SUCKS!! I'm already nervous driving around here with my GMMG, let alone a 408 with true duals! On a weekend, you wouldn't last more than an hour here.

 

anyone know if they just give you a fix-it-ticket or do they slap you with a fine? i live in maryland by the way

 

They threatened to impound my car and send me to the smog ref the other day! It's probably different out there though........

The exhaust will be illegal either way you go, but to keep them off your ***. Just go ahead and run them out the back. Having them dumped will be a guaranteed ticket.

 

sure let me hop right on that... as soon as you send me the extra dough ill make it happen...sike i just wanted a cheaper alternative, trust me if i had the money it would have already been done. anyone from md know what the fine is?

 

what all did they say with your case... you have cats? correct? so they say anything about the lt's or just that you modified the exhaust?.... and its loud

That is ludicrous. I haven't gotten any crap about my front plate so far in California. Hopefully I won't have a reason to go to the state capital otherwise it sounds like I'll be in for it.

 

Yeah, I've got cats......He pulled me over because he said my exhaust was "rumblin' pretty good", and then asked me to pop the hood. He said he could impound my car because my headers were illegal.

 

i have them dumped, no cats. yeah some cali spots are pathetic, here where i live they dont really bitch a lot, last time i got pulled over i thought cause of my exhaust but it was cause of my tint then again it was cinco de mayo and they pull over for no reason on celebration days to check your not drunk, he didnt even ask for my insurance and registration. and i havent even took off my tint lol.
