Default 85 mm MAF...I know I know

I have steered many people away from putting one of these on, however my question is are they worth it with a proper dyno tune?

Such as you get one on but you have it tuned on a dyno immeditaly after install. Has anyone ever done this?

Yes it would help if the car was properly tuned for it. Contact the tuner before you buy one and see which one he likes to tune. Most will want you to run an OEM 85mm MAF (z06 or something). You will see the most benifit if running a 90/90 combo though.

If tuned for, it IS worth it. And tuning for it these days isn't hard as long as you can find someone competent.

Ok it's official, after looking at many of your posts, I've decided you own the most *** looking Camaro I've ever seen. Got any more pics of it?

I just have one lying around that is why I asked. It's the 85mm style. I am doing a full bolt-on install soon with a tune so I just asked to see if it would be worth it to add into the dyno tune.

Anyone have the part # for these so I can double check it? It looks like the same one on my Silverado.

I'm running the Pace LS6 that's been calibrated for the LS1. No trouble tuning with it.

Are these the same as the Delphi LS6 MAF's?

OK so I found that little resistor SLP puts in there. I will unsoder it to remove that primative tuning trick.

Mine's a Delphi also but it seems Pace is the only company that has them reprogrammed to LS1 tables.

I got mine tuned with the resistor on. I thought about removing it, maybe I should and retune without the resistor.

I unsodered the resistor that SLP put in there. I will check with my tuner when I do the swap to see if this is a good fix for these MAF's.

The resistor is sodered in near the edge of the MAF across two of the bars holding the actual sensors. I don't know what will happen with the tune but I will let everyone know when I get everything installed.
