Damn, this LS1 is sooo easy to work on. It would seem like the engineers that designed the LT1 got fired and mechanics designed the LS1 not paper pushers.
You`d really have to work on both engines to appreciate the LS1. I did H/C headers etc on the LT1 and now I`m modding the Hawk and I`m just amazed. The bolt locations on the head for headers are perfect, I can get them all except 1 with an air ratchet, they`re in the middle of the flange NOT on each side of the primary.. that alone saves like 2 hours ..

The cam was a snap.. no peeling or scraping gaskets.. no taking off the intake.. just great.
Spark plugs are a snap.. even easier with headers .. no stupid OPTICRAP...just that last bolt on the passenger side coil pack.. that`s a bitch!

Yep, much eaiser to work on. Once you ditch that back coil rail bolt the first time, the plug changes are a real snap <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
