mac headers

mac headers I just finished the install and have a question. my car seems to idle a little rougher. Is this normal? power seems to be alittle better, lost a little low end but gained top end. my car is basically a stock auto. I has small ticking noise. what do you think

Re: mac headers I put Macs on my '99 this past weekend and it actualy idles smoother! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> as far as low end, I gained some, I wen't to the track and wen't from a best of 1.976 - 8.44@85.61 - 13.04@106.67 down to a 1.901 - 8.32@86.29 - 12.88@107.61 so the headers did work! maybe you are too rich? I think mine is a bit rich myself, I guess I need to get some new readings and see.

Re: mac headers does your car have EGR/AIR. if so did you make block off plates for the EGR/AIR. if not I'm pretty sure that is your ticking noise. it is your check valves. and with headers it is normal to lose low end but gain top end. and it may idle rougher due to headers making your car run rich. just my $.02
